SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police say they had no choice but to use their taser weapons while making an arrest in the Highland neighborhood. However, the suspect wasn't the only person left stunned by the encounter.

Officers also got a pretty big shock when the woman they thought they were arresting turned out to be a man. The suspect was wearing a dress, fishnet pantyhose and heels.

Police say they noticed a vehicle driving down the 800 block of Rutherford Street around 2 a. m. with its lights off. The officers initiated a traffic stop, and while they were trying to make contact with the two people in the car, one person ran off.

Officers say the person who remained began to struggle with them and they had to use the taser at least once to shock the suspect into compliance.

During the struggle, the suspect's wig fell off, revealing to officers that they were dealing with a man. Police say he told them his name was Jacques McKinney, although he did not have any identification on him.

The suspect, who was complaining of chest pains, was transported to LSU hospital as a precaution. Police say they cited him for several offenses including resisting arrest.
