Sewer snake claimed by family

A Lakewood, Wash., family has come forward to claim ownership of a corn snake that was found in a Pierce County sewer treatment plant.

The Belding family said they thought their 4 1/2-foot snake, Frosty, had died after it escaped about a month ago but they later discovered their pet had been discovered Thursday by workers at the Chambers Creek treatment plant, KOMO-TV, Seattle, reported Monday.

Fay Belding said the family reclaimed their snake Saturday from the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County. She said she and her family are delighted to have Frosty back home. "We're gonna keep him cleaned and fed -- and never take our eyes off him
when he's not in his tank," she said.
