1. There isn't any more knowledge than what's on their website. The website is actually more detailed than it has ever been in regards to specific dates of each part of the recruitment process. This is pending approval from the legislature for the funding which is why there isn't any more information available.
2. If you've already filled out the form to submit a letter of interest you'll receive a postcard as soon as they receive the go ahead for recruitment.
3. As of right now there are eighteen sworn members who are eligible to retire this year, with more eligible come 2011. You can imagine every effort will be made to fund an academy since it's graduates will only keep the same number of sworn members the same as it is now.
4.The process is long, thorough and steady...just like all of the other state agencies across the country.
Again, their web site is pretty thorough and more detailed than it was during the last recruitment process. If you sign up and take the test, you'll realize how different their process is compared to most agencies. Good luck.
