SEABROOK — Seabrook police arrested a man early yesterday morning and charged him with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after reports came in to the station of a man walking in the area of Pine Street with a rifle.
Dennis Merrill, 48, 60 Pine St., Seabrook, was arrested at his home after officers Scott Mendes and David Buccheri responded to the scene at 7:44 a.m. and discovered Merrill matching the description of the man.
Officer David Buccheri requested multiple times to see Merrill's hands, according to information released by police. Merrill ran into his residence and barricaded himself in his bedroom.
Sgt. Robert Granland and officer John Mounsey assisted.
Ordered to exit the bedroom, and assisted by his wife, Merrill came out of the bedroom and began resisting arrest as officer attempted to handcuff him, according to the police reports.
Two officers tasered Merrill, according to Sgt. Jason Allen last night. He received a minor cut on his forehead and was transported to Exeter Hospital for treatment.
Officers Chet Felch and Jeff Baillargeon assisted at the scene as well.
Merrill was arraigned in Hampton District Court on $5,000 cash bail and $5,000 personal recognizance.
