First time I've seen a chief inflate crime stats......my place does everything possible to conceal what really goes on in the city.

There could be a quadruple homicide committed in the middle of Hancock Street at rush hour, and there would be absolutely no mention of it in the "Hot Spots" police blotter in the weekly city newspaper. I used to get a subscription to that paper for my father every year for his b-day when he lived in Connecticut, and one day he asked me "You guys arrested 73 people last week, but there's no mention of any crime in the Hot Spots column".

Yeah, Dad. Exactly.
