my gf got me a Radio shack Triple trunking Scanner. It has the port for ear phones,AC/DC power port, it also comes with a slot for PC/Interface cord, with the PC slot, can i manually enter my freqs thru the comp ==> scanner?

Yes, you can. You'll need the appropriate software and a cable from the serial port of the PC to the scanner.

Ask your 12 year old son how to do it. If you don't have one then go out into the neighborhood and find one. This is not a joke. In today's computer and video game age, we adults are useless.

I also got one...the RS Pro97 handheld....go to RadioReference.com...lots of info there. You can download a software program that will program the scanner its called Win 97. You will need the "gray cable"...Do not buy the software from Radio Shack...it will not work.
I have downloaded Win97...but dont have the cable..so cant use it yet. The manual is practically useless...its like it is written in a different language

This is so true. A friend of mine was going crazy because one weekend his nephew changed his ring tone on his cellphone. He tried for days to change it (it was a unique ring just for new messages). So the following weekend he threw his cellphone at the kid and said change it... and he did after pushing 3 or 4 buttons. 30 seconds. boy was he PISSED.
