The same as every other city/town that has accepted it, except the state pays the whole amount (since cities and towns pick-up the other half for their departments). They receive their incentive every paycheck (bi-weekly).

Not every town does it the same. Some pay a lump sum at the beginning of the year, so it does not figure into their OT or court pay. Others pay it out weekly so it bumps up the OT rate.

How do you know your not talking to Joe Bergantino, Howie Carr or the Channel 5 eye team? Why are you guys so ready to give up such valueable info? I'm not even on the job, but you guys are racing for answers. Don't mean to sound like a conspiracy theorists, but I'd question those on these threads who ask questions about details or the Quinn bill. [-X[-X

Joe Bergantino or Howie Carr would just file a FOIA request and get official documentation, as if they don't already know the information.

Each agency decides how to calculate the payments. We get it quarterly, which I like. Most departments don't calculate it for overtime, the ones I can think off the top of my head that do are MSP, Quincy, Cambridge, and Brockton. There's probably a few more.

Unless you live in a cave (or a mall) The Herald, Globe, and just about every newspaper hammer us every year on Details and the Quinn. Usually right around the time they post the top money makers in every department.

Since I only concern myself usually with the take home pay, I can guarantee finding out how much extra I made in the local newspaper.

Damn, you got me!! I am the Channel 5 Eye Team and I am digging up secrets on this message board. I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you and those pesky kids.

Actually, I am in the running for the 79th and the college I went to is Quinn eligible, so I was wondering how it is calculated. Paranoid much? If I was part of the EYE TEAM, do you think I would be asking questions on a message board?? I really don't think asking one question is racing for answers and if you chose not to answer my question, don't post.

Thanks to those who helped answer my question.
