Police have asked for the public's help identifying a lightly-bearded man with tinted glasses who robbed the Eastern Bank on Franklin Street.
The robbery at 4:40 p.m. Monday was at least the tenth since the bank moved into the 63 Franklin St. building previously occupied by the Hibernia Savings Bank in the late 1990s.
Surveillance photos show a man of 35 to 45, about 5-foot-7 and 130 to 150 pounds.
He waited for a customer at the counter ahead of him to leave, then handed a note to a female teller demanding money, saying he had a gun.
The robber was dressed in a Columbia fleece jacket over a gray shirt, blue jeans, sneakers and a Red Sox World Series baseball cap.
He fled in an unknown direction on leaving the bank, and it was unknown if he had a vehicle.
The amount of money taken was not released.
