A Providence police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash.
NBC 10 has learned that the crash happened in Jamestown at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The officer killed has been identified as 43-year-old John Raposa, a veteran officer on the force.
The crash happened at the intersection of North Road and Westwind Drive.
Providence police reported that the department will release an official statement later Sunday morning.
