Promotional Exams

Anyone have any suggestions, comments, disscussion, etc. regarding taking promotional exams? Has anyone attended any seminars for test preparation and are they worth it? I know Pat Rogers and some others offer seminars for the tests? I know alot of people who took the last Sgts test scored pretty low for the most part. Books to buy or not to buy? Thanks
