You can now receive a text message on your cell phone when you receive a new private message on MassCops!

Log into your User Control Panel
Link is "User CP"

Once in your control panel look on the links on the left side click on "Edit Email & Password"

The first think you need to do is to enter your current password in the first field so that the settings you are about to enter will save to the database.

Enter your present password to continue:

Next go the new section at the bottom "Edit Cell Phone Number (Optional)"

Cell Phone Number:

Confirm Cell Phone Number:

Enter your cell number in this format 5555555555 (no dashes or space)

Next select your cell carrier from the drop down menu.

Verizon Wireless (Tested)

Cingular Wireless (Not Yet Tested)

AT&T Wireless (Not Yet Tested)

Alltel (Not Yet Tested)

NEXTEL (Tested)

Virgin Mobile (Tested)

T-Mobile (Not Yet Tested)

Sprint PCS (Tested)

I am not sure that all of these work 100% I know that NEXTEL, Verizon, Virgin Mobile and Sprint PCS work. I would appreciate any feedback from Cingular, AT&T and T-Mobile members.

Click Save Changes

Click on "Edit Options" on the left menu

In the second section of the page "Messaging & Notification"

Find "The forum can send a text message to your cell phone to inform you when someone sends you a private message."

Check the box "Receive Text Message Notification of New Private Messages"

To test the service you can send yourself a PM.

Go to the main forum page and near the bottom where is shows users online click on your name. This will take you to your public information page. Once there you can send yourself a test PM.
