Officials Say Man Didn't Return From Looking For Work

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- A minimum-security inmate walked away from a transitional housing unit in Manchester on Thursday, corrections officials said.

David Garcia, 34, of Manchester, didn't return to the housing unit after signing out at 10:20 a.m. to look for work, officials said. He was placed on walkaway status at about 2 p.m.

Garcia is serving three concurrent sentences of 2½ to 10 years for the sale, possession and manufacture of drugs, officials said. He became eligible for parole on June 14, and his sentence ends in 2015.
Garcia was described as a black man, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 160 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes. He has tattoos on his upper right and left arms, his left cheek and his neck.

Prison officials said anyone with information on Garcia's location should call local police.
