Warren police are warning teenagers and their families about a new social networking website that could be used in bad ways. This after local police arrest a man who allegedly used the site to find a high school student and solicit sex.

It is not as widely known as MySpace or Facebook, but the social networking website called "Teenspot," is already making a name for itself. But not a good one.
Unlike other social websites, Teenspot is geared to kids age 10 and up. In fact, you can't even join if you say you are over 25. And while some of the member profiles seem innocuous, many of them are explicit and contain nude photos. Enter the chat room, and within in minutes, messages may pop up asking you to hook-up.
"It is okay to chat, but when things start crossing a line or when things become sexual in nature, that is a red flag and needs to be reported," said Chief Bruce Spiewasowski, of the Warren Police Department
Warren police have been monitoring Teenspot, and their work led to the arrest of 21 year old Scott Britz of Marlborough. Britz allegedly tried to solicit sex from a 15 year old girl from Quaboag Regional High School through the Teenspot website.
Luckily police were tipped off about the meeting before anything happened. But they say parents need to keep a close eye on what their kids are doing on the internet.
"Parents should be looking and watching what their kids are doing. These sites can be the catalyst that brings these people to our community," said Chief Spiewasowski.

Shut It Down !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree!! They have to know that a site where only kids are allowed to chat is going to be a magnet for scum. There are ways around that age thing obviously. Do they think the adults looking to have sex with kids are honest?
