During an argument with his wife, a Framingham man vowed Tuesday to burn down their home as punishment.
Thomas Sullivan, 53, will have a hearing in Framingham District Court today to determine if he is a danger to the public after he was ordered held without bail at his arraignment yesterday.
On Tuesday, at 8:30 p.m., police went to 50 Hartford St. on a call about a domestic dispute, Deputy Police Chief Craig Davis said.
Officers found a heavily intoxicated Sullivan screaming in front of his house.
His wife said the pair were having a cookout when the argument broke out.
"During the course of the argument, he was cooking steaks on the grill," said Davis. "He took the meat off the grill and threw it on the ground. He went to the garage and grabbed a five gallon gas can and poured the gas on the grill, but there was only a small amount of gas in the can."
Sullivan went to the garage and grabbed another gasoline can when the officers arrived.
"He said he was going to burn the house down," said Davis.
Sullivan was charged with attempted arson and domestic threats.
He will be held at the Middlesex Jail in Cambridge until today's hearing.
