Fall River -

City police are offering a reward for information on the incident in which someone apparently threw a piece of concrete from an Interstate-195 overpass, seriously injuring a motorist.
State Police Trooper Allyson Powell of the Dartmouth barracks is investigating the incident in which Sheila Quinton, 53, of Little Compton, R.I., was struck in the chest by the object that crashed through her windshield.
"Trooper Powell's investigation has led to the conclusion that a piece of concrete had been thrown from the overpass in the vicinity of Gromada Plaza," stated Chief John M. Souza.
Gromada Plaza is located on the west side of South Main Street, west of Government Center where several flagpoles are erected.
"While the investigation is being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police, the Fall River Police will extend our resources to aid in the investigation," Souza said.
Therefore, Fall River police will be offering a reward to anyone who may have information regarding the incident, or who may have observed any suspicious activity on Saturday between 1 and 2 a.m. in the area of Gromada Plaza, he said.
Any tips can be made by calling the Fall River Police Department TIPLINE at 508-672-TIPS (8477) or state police, attention Trooper Powell, at 508-993-8373.
