PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Police said they had an easy time arresting a man who sped away from a Portsmouth sobriety checkpoint because he had already turned over his license and registration.

They said Peter Glidden, 32, of Somersworth, N.H., handed over his license and registration at a sobriety checkpoint over the weekend and then peeled out and sped away, almost hitting an officer.
Police eventually pulled over Glidden and reported finding marijuana in his vehicle. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drugs, disobeying a police officer and reckless conduct.
