NEW DURHAM, N.H. -- New Durham police said a man was arrested after hitting a girl with a dirt bike while fleeing officers.
Police said the incident happened on Aug. 23. The man, 41-year-old Dennis Grondin, was riding the dirt bike on Ridge Road when an officer tried to stop him. Police said Grondin fled and eventually pulled into a driveway, hitting a 12-year-old girl.
According to police, Grondin picked the girl up and hid in a house until police had left the area. He then took the girl to a hospital with the child's mother.
The girl suffered a broken leg and multiple cuts.
Grondin was arrested Aug. 30 and charged with reckless conduct, falsifying physical evidence, second-degree assault, disobeying a police officer and conduct after an accident. He was also charged with multiple traffic violations.
