Fall River -
Residents across the city's North End are waking up to broken windshields.
Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Bernier said members of the Major Crimes Unit are investigating 39 separate cases of car windshields being shot out by a pellet gun. Police are also treating a broken window at the Fall River Municipal Credit Union on Milliken Boulevard as potentially related to the spat of vehicle vandalism.
Bernier said the vehicle matters have been in the area of Brownell and North Main streets to the Freetown town line.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 508-324-2796.
If allegations that vehicle windows are being shot out is true, it would be the second time in the past seven months that police have faced a similar case of wide spread vandalism.
In late December four people were arrested in connection to vandalizing more than 100 vehicles. The four suspects are accused of conducting a BB gun shooting spree in neighborhoods from North Main Street to New Boston Road.
