BETHEL, Maine -- Bethel schools were locked down for about an hour Thursday morning while police searched for a woman who robbed a bank manager on the town's Main Street.

Steve McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety said the woman displayed a gun when she met the manager of Key Bank at the front door as she was arriving for work Thursday. Unable to enter the bank, the assailant forced the manager to use an ATM in the bank's entryway to withdraw an undisclosed sum of money.

Police are looking for a woman in her mid-20s who was wearing a white T-shirt, tan capri pants and white Crocs for footwear. She covered her face with a multicolored scarf.
