ROCKLAND -
Police arrested two people on Friday accused of dealing drugs out of an apartment across the street from the police station.
The two residents of the 495 Market St. apartment are accused of distributing heroin and Suboxone, an FDA-approved drug meant to treat opioid abuse.
Their building is about 75 feet from the Rockland Police Department sign, police said.
During an investigation, police were informed that the suspects had been telling buyers their apartment was "right across from the Rockland police station sign," police said.
Arrested were 46-year-old Richard Desrochers and 39-year-old Kristine Barry.
Police executed a search warrant at the apartment at about 4:30 p.m. Friday. Police say they found Barry in possession of 34.5 grams of heroin and found 21 Subuxone pills in the apartment.
Both suspects were charged with trafficking in Class A substance and possession with intent to distribute Class B substance, police said.
