Re: Police Detail slashed in transportation refrom pitch
Mass will be like Rhode Island. They go by the flaggers give them the finger, yell and scream. The flaggers in RI make about $40,000 for the construction season. There not saving money there just relocating it to their political friends.
In Rhode Island, the flagmen/flagwomen are mostly unionized and that is the prevailing wage. Never mind some of the companies who just take any old guy, give him a sign and suddenly he is a flagger.
These politicians are all the same, screwing the cops!!!
I will support you from out of state. Rhode Island uses flaggers and it is terrible!! Some of the flaggers I have observed come from the correctional facility pool("former" drug addicts to former drunkards).
This is all about Deval giving a political payback to someone!!!
In Rhode Island, we recently had a flagger get caught sleeping in his vehicle. The person taking the photo thought they were bagging a cop until they found out it was a flagger.
They were going to post it on youtube but had a second thought when they realized it was a flagger. Good luck.
Woburn's police chief says he's disappointed that the Middlesex district attorney is not going to prosecute three out-of-town cops whom he believes criminally disrupted a state roadway work site.
The Middlesex district attorney's office reviewed videotapes from the Oct. 7 protest in Woburn and decided that the cops did not violate the law, said Woburn police Chief Philip Mahoney. The DA said yesterday there was insufficient evidence to prosecute.
The cops joined 40 officers who protested the state's new civilian flagger rules that do away with paid details at some work sites.
"They should be held accountable," said Mahoney, who has also called each officer's police chief to request an internal probe. "It's important that these work sites not be interfered with. The law is the law."

"A few million might not make a serious dent in our budget problems, but it shows a commitment on the part of the administration to serious reforms," Tuerck said.
They flagperson would have probably had a Beer with the operator of the vehicle. No exactly A+ personality flagging these days.:t:
