ASHBY -- Police say a Luke Road man is charged with stealing three cars on Erickson Road and breaking into several more cars and stealing items, according to Ashby Police Chief Paul Lundin.
Seth Pease, 33, of 67 Luke Road, has so far been charged with felony receiving stolen property more than $250, larceny less than $250, and felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to Lundin. More charges are possible, according to Lundin.
Police arrested Pease on Friday, Oct. 31, after allegedly finding a car reported stolen the day before down the street from Pease's Luke Road Home, Lundin said.
Pease allegedly stole three cars in late October from homes on Erickson Road.
Police found two of the cars the same day they were reported stolen back on Erickson Road, Lundin said.
The car stolen Oct. 30 did not show up until the following day, Lundin said.
"We believe the cars were driven out of the area and then driven back into the area," Lundin said. "It's pretty apparent he wasn't trying to deprive the car owners of their cars permanently."
Pease is also accused of several thefts of items from parked cars on Erickson Road over the course of the last two months, Lundin said.
Police recovered some of the stolen property from Pease following his arrest, Lundin said. Pease was arraigned last week in Ayer District Court and ordered held on $500 cash bail, according to Lundin.
