As well he should be. He was arrested for outstanding warrants, not for helping the police.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- James Strom apparently wanted to help police stop a speeding truck.
But instead he got himself arrested.
Strom was driving north on I-95 Wednesday night when he saw East Providence police chasing a pickup truck behind him. As the pickup neared him, the 37-year-old Strom slid his truck over, hit the pickup being chased and pushed it into a Jersey barrier.
He stopped the chase but was arrested when state police officers responding to the accident discovered there was an outstanding warrant for him.
State Police Captain Raymond White says Strom was charged with failure to appear in court for not paying a fine on a charge of domestic simple assault.
