ANDOVER, Mass. -- Two suspects who tied up an elderly man and stole thousands of dollars from him are behind bars for their cruel actions.
The victim, Joseph Stack, was a neighborhood do-gooder who often helped out the homeless.
A homeless woman who used to clean his house had told the two suspects that he had a considerable amount of money at his residence.
The two suspects cut a hole through his chain link fence and entered his home through the garage.
They tied Stack up with his own suspenders and asked him where his money was kept.
Stack told 7News that before the thieves left, they warned him, "If you call the police, we'll come back we'll murder you, we'll kill you."
The suspects reportedly stole a few thousand dollars, took Stack's car keys, and fled in his vehicle.
Police eventually found and arrested Wilfredo Santiago Jr. and Gerald D. Prescott.
The suspects face multiple charges and will be arraigned in Lawrence District Court tomorrow.
The victim was not injured, and all of his money has been returned.
