Hey there,

I see these guys sporting these blue "Pistol Expert" pins/awards on their uniform. What is the requirement for qualifying for this? or is this a self endowed award? :wink:

It goes by your score. There are other designations, like marksman, sharpshooter, etc..

I know in my department, you can wear the "pistol expert" pin if you get a perfect score during the two qualifications coarse; both scores need to be 100%. I think it's up to each particular department on who’s aloud to wear it.

Interesting, so this isn't a MCJTC initiated thing? More of an award bestowed by your department?
