Duties: Provides advice & guidance to staff sections & subordinate units on setting up & operating physical security plans & programs. Advises units of changes necessary or directed in physical security goals or procedures. Formulates, recommends, & issues necessary implementing instructions to ensure compliance or uniform application. Performs assistance visits & inspections to ensure that units are fully informed & comply with directives, procedures, plans, & regulations. Prepares reports evaluating the adequacy of organizational physical security practices, identifying critical areas requiring special protective measures & recommending practical solutions to physical security deficiencies. Reviews physical security plans & directives issued by higher headquarters & reviews their implementation. Reviews physical security plans prepared by subordinate units for compliance with overall plans & objectives. Assists & advises Commanders in physical security planning.

# CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (RESERVE MEMBERSHIP): INDIVIDUALS NEWLY HIRED FOR MILITARY TECHNICIAN (MT) POSITIONS MUST BE ACTIVE MEMBERS OF THEUS ARMY RESERVE IAW 10 USC 10216, DOD DIRECTIVE 1205-18, AND ARMY REGULATION 140-315. IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY A FEDERAL CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE IN THE MT PROGRAM, YOU MUST HAVE OR OBTAIN ARMY RESERVE MEMBERSHIP PRIOR TO YOUR ACTUAL HIRE DATE. MTs are required to maintain active Reserve membership during their employment as a MT. Reserve units and members thereof are subject to immediate call to active duty in the event of mobilization to meet a national emergency. Because retired military are ineligible for membership in the Ready Reserve, they are also ineligible to apply under this announcement. Retired Military personnel who are not members of the Ready Reserve may not become eligible by waiving their retired pay. # GS-09: One year of experience directly related to the occupation equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; or Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; or equivalent combinations of experience and education.
