I'm over in Mosul at the moment. I think the pictures he is refering to were taken in the aftermath of a suicide bombing at the messhall located across town from here. One of the shots was of a fatally wonded soldier trying to stop the bleeding from the neckwound that killed him.

Before anyone jumps on the photographer, one, he was reacting to what had just happened and two the wound was to massive to do anything about. They guy bleed out quickly!

The problem is they do not show a lot of pictures they should; a soldier cradeling a dying Iraqi child in his arms like it was his own son, soldiers going out undr fire to save buddies, things like that, things like that.

I'm coming towards the end of my year here, and I've noticed that there is a perceptible drop in support for the troops. That's unfortunante.

The pictures are back up and they ARE of a soldier cradling an Iraqi child, soldiers posing with Iraqi's that are obviously appreciative of what the soldiers are doing for them as well as many others that would be too shocking for the media to show us.

It would be par for the course for the media to show us photos of civilians dying and wounded soldiers. That is what helps fuel the media's drive to reduce support for the war and for the troops.

If they were to show these pictures people might actually start supporting the war and the troops and God forbid George W. Bush.

Thank you very much redpara for your service and just know there are plenty of us over here that support you and hope to seeyou guys coming home safely when your mission is complete.
