PEABODY — Police are investigating an armed robbery last night committed by a man posing as a police officer.
Police said the victim was driving west on Lowell Street in West Peabody at about 7 p.m. when he said a gray Ford sedan with a push bar in the front of the car and blue lights, which were blinking, pulled him over.
The victim turned off of Lowell Street and onto Crystal Drive to pull over for the supposed police cruiser.
The suspect, who had a handgun, approached the man and took a bag of money from the victim and left the area toward Lynnfield, police Lt. John McCorry said.
The victim then went to Hannafords to call police.
The robbery is being investigated by detectives.
The suspect, who was dressed in plain clothes, is described as a white man with brown hair and a dark complexion.
The victim was not injured.

Looks like someone picked themselves up a car at the auction and "whacker"ized it!
