Police: Suspect Tried To Slash Manager With Knife
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- A South Portland pet store manager went on the defense to protect his store from a would-be robber.
Police said Sunday afternoon, Alan Bonville, 27, stole items from the Petco fish department and then left the store.
The store manager followed Bonville and confronted him in the parking lot.
Police said that is when Bonville took out a knife and tried to slash the manager twice.
The manager was not injured.
Police tracked Bonville down in the area and arrested him.
He is charged with robbery.
