FOXBORO (WBZ) ― The New England Patriots announced Monday they have signed former Pro Bowl cornerback Deltha O'Neal.

O'Neal was released by Cincinnati Saturday, after four seasons with the Bengals.

He's expected to fill Fernando Bryant's spot on the roster. Bryant's release had left the Patriots with two rookies among their top four cornerbacks.

O'Neal made the Pro Bowl in 2005 and in 2001, while playing with Denver. The Broncos traded O'Neal to Cincinnati in 2003 after four seasons in Denver. He was drafted out of Cal by the Broncos with the 15th overall pick in the 2000 draft.

O'Neal set a Bengals franchise record with 10 interceptions in 2005, but he's battled injuries the last two seasons. He's also a kick returner.

The Patriots also claimed tight end Jason Pociask off waivers from the New York Jets and offensive tackle Mark LeVoir off waivers from the St. Louis Rams.

Pociask has played in just four NFL games. LeVoir has yet to appear in a game.

The Patriots also signed offensive lineman Jacob Bender and tight end Tyson DeVree to the practice squad, and released tight end Stephen Spach.
