JEWETT CITY, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police have arrested the parents of a Jewett City toddler who died after he found a gun and accidentally shot himself last month.
Troopers arrested the couple at their home Wednesday morning.
Twenty-7-year-old Jason Matteau is charged with criminally negligent storage of a firearm and risk of injury to a minor. Twenty-4-year-old Rebecca Matteau is charged with risk of injury to a minor.
2-year-old Wyatt Matteau died Aug. 28 from a gunshot wound to his head after finding the gun in the family's home.
The couple posted a $50,000 bond and are due in Norwich Superior Court Oct. 1 for arraignment.
