Dose anyone know what the procedure is for an out of state resident (RI in this case) who works in MA to obtain an "mace only" FID card? I know that for it to be the other way around (MA to RI) with an LTC you need to write the RI Attorney General and qualify at the range, but I really don't know what mechanism is in place with OC seeing as there is no restriction on it in RI.

Last I knew you CAN apply for a Mass LTC or FID. You need to complete a Gun Safety class recognized by the Commonwealth first along with, of course, a clean criminal history. The main difference being is the expiration date, Out of staters will have to renew their license EACH year. The license currently cost $100.

The cost for the restricted FID (spray only) card is $25.00, and you do not have to attend a firearms safety course.
