In related news, the Obama administration announces huge cutbacks in the military to fund social welfare programs. Among the projects cancelled include any further acquisition of the F-22, F-35, Zumwalt-Class Destroyers, Gerald R. Ford-Class Aircraft Carriers, anti-ballistic missile systems and cutting-edge UAV's. The administration considers those projects to be as outdated as "bayonets and horses" and will instead begin funding "peaceful nuclear research" in Iran and North Korea.

I'd laugh if it wasn't beyond the realm of tangible possibility. Everybody keenly aware of the strike by workers at Long Beach Port? Watch the president fire em all and bring in chinese workers to replace them. Then "Red Dawn" is one step closer to happening......
Then again WTF do I know?

Nothing an Aegis equiped cruiser or destroyer couldn't handle, but the vacationer and chief is too busy planning his five million dollar taxpayer funded vacation.

I think it will go about as well as their last missle test. Didn't it blow up about 20 seconds into launch?

North Korea fires long-range rocket in defiant move, South Korea says

Published December 11, 2012
Associated Press
SEOUL, South Korea - South Korea says North Korea has fired a long-range rocket in a defiant move just days ahead of South Korea's presidential election.
It was the second rocket launch under leader Kim Jong Un. Kim took power following his father Kim Jong Il's death one year ago.
It wasn't immediately clear if the rocket launch Wednesday morning succeeded. A similar launch in April broke apart shortly after liftoff.

NKorea warns of nuke test, more rocket launches

"We do not hide that a variety of satellites and long-range rockets which will be launched by the DPRK one after another and a nuclear test of higher level which will be carried out by it in the upcoming all-out action, a new phase of the anti-U.S. struggle that has lasted century after century, will target against the U.S., the sworn enemy of the Korean people," the commission said, referring to North Korea by its official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

"Settling accounts with the U.S. needs to be done with force, not with words, as it regards jungle law as the rule of its survival," the commission said.

Though it didn't get as much attention and WW2 and Vietnam, those with family who fought in The Korean War have not forgotten. My Grandfather fought in WWII and The Korean War and he's probably rolling in his grave right now.

I haven't heard China, who owns a good chunk of our indebted country, speak out yet. If you recall, they sided with the enemy in the Korean War or what they called the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

Any other president would have lit their flat asses up by now!

US Navy Seeks Alternate Deckhouse for DDG-1002

Jan 25, 2013
Aviation Week's DTI | by Michael Fabey
This article first appeared in Aerospace Daily & Defense Report.

The U.S. Navy is looking at building an alternative deckhouse for DDG-1002, the final proposed Zumwalt-class destroyer.

The current Zumwalt deckhouse is uniquely designed and constructed of composite materials at a special facility owned and operated by Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) unit.

Indeed, the special deckhouse has been one of the main selling points for the Zumwalt, with its specially designed composite construction that the Navy has touted as cutting down on weight and bolstering the ship's stealth.
