WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Norfolk District Attorney's office is investigating the death of a Wellesley toddler in her home.
Medical personnel responding to the 21-month-old girl's home late Friday night found her unresponsive.
The district attorney's office says the girl was taken to Newton-Wellesley Hospital where she later died.
The child's name was not made public. An autopsy is scheduled to determine a cause of death.
A spokeswoman for the state Department of Children and Families says the agency is also investigating. There had been one previous complaint against the family involved, but it was found to be "unsubstantiated."
Prosecutors' involvement is standard protocol when a child dies at home.
