Good Evening, Anyone know of any non civil service municipalities hiring in the Boston area? Any help appreciated thank you! Full time academy trained.
Thank you for the help! Working for a college is good money but gotta get back into a municipality for the long run!
Dedham, walpole, Norwood, canton, wrentham, norfolk, Franklin, Wellesley, framingham and natick, are all non civil service. Just do your research.
Here’s the list I came up with. Hope it helps, Acton, Adams, Bellingham, Brewster, Burlington, Chatham, Dennis, Dover, Eastham, Easthampton, Franklin, Grafton, Harwich, Holliston, Hopkinton, Lakeville, Lee, Lexington, Manchester-by-the-sea, Marion, Marlborough, Mashpee, Maynard, Milford, Millis, North Adams, North Attleboro, North Reading, Norwood, Orange, Orleans, Provincetown, Reading, Rochester, Rockport, Seekonk, Sharon, Sherborn, Shirley, Sudbury, Truro, Tyngsborough, Uxbridge, Walpole, Wayland, Webster, Wellesley, Wellfleet, Westport, Westwood, West Boylston, Williamstown, Yarmouth
Not sure if they are hiring currently or not but Newbury, West Newbury, Rowley, Georgetown, Groveland, Rockport, Essex, Hamilton, and Wenham are also non-CS. Not sure where you are located but figured I would throw these out there.
I’m on the south shore in Sharon, Hopefully find something down this way. I don’t mind a commute tho.
Hello, Yes, I have a full time municipal academy with a few years of municipal and college experience.
If not mentioned, try Foxboro i think they are non cs and also start alot of folks as reserves to move on to ft. Not a bad dept and a pretty good gig from what I remember. Walpole i think is non cs too.
I did try foxborough, they have reserves but have not hired any in a few years. Hopefully I can find something in the Sharon area soon or at least within 45 min drive. Thanks again for everyone’s help! Brendan
Framingham petitioned and will be leaving, I’m waiting on the day I can make the transfer. Natick isn’t leaving though
In todays climate, CS Non CS, do yourself a favor and find another career, the future of policing is bleak.
