CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A business executive is accused of stealing from the company that owns the Lowell Spinners baseball team and is a partner with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
A federal prosecutor filed a wire fraud charge Tuesday against Kurt Sanborn, of Bow. He is accused of stealing more than $284,000 from Diamond Action, Inc. of Lowell, Mass., by submitting invoices from fictitious companies and diverting money from legitimate invoices when he managed construction of the Fisher Cats' stadium in Manchester for the firm.
Diamond Action's principal, Drew Weber, sued Sanborn for fraud two years ago and got an $8.4 million judgment when Sanborn did not contest the claims. Court records were not clear on whether any of the money has been paid.
