Does anybody know how many people the Boston Police Academy recruits a year on average? Or if anyone knows how many they have called so far? Thanks in advance.
This solely depends on funding much like EVERY dept on the planet. For the last 3-4 years its been 50+ recruits in each class, averaging 1-2 classes a year. The dept is currently been dealing with catching up with an abundance of retirements and have plenty of spots to fill but once again its all on funding........

Doesn't sound right because if the next academy is scheduled to start in December then that means they will not graduate until June. So mid to late summer could be more accurate but not spring. Also depends on if the money is already there for the department to spend on the class.

Agreed! It's a 6 Month Process at minimum so January sounds right if they're looking to start another class in July maybe. Maybe they begin to search for the next class in December, January, or February.

PAT's today for December class. Once the dust settles and they start -Dec 8 I'm told- look for the Recruit Investigation Unit to be disbanded for the holidays, then regroup in January so the process so can start again. Cards most likely some time in Feb. All subject to $$$ as usual.

Everyone was told the exact same thing today. They told us that they will be in touch. I'm pretty sure that in about two weeks or maybe sooner they will let us know. Not everyone passed the PAT today and some will have the chance to retake it.
