Heads up for those of us the work on the South Shore.

I was up at the Quincy Auto Auction today and they will be auctioning off a good amount of retired cruisers on Monday.

All off them have had their decals taken off but many still have equipment left on/in them such as push bars, spotlights, cages, etc. A DOC Tahoe even has lightbars and siren still installed.

Thought I would give the heads up.

Could somebody go down there and check this stuff out? I don't have the time since last time I went to quincy my car broke down and I ended up at a wacker auction with a CMPSA guy who out bid me on every car! Then my nightmare ended it was all a dream!

I was there today most of them sold. The Tahoe sold with lightbar and siren, cage push bar, spot, and all still installed.

Next week they will be having more Whacker cars. Seems they are comming from MHQ

In fairness it's not all whackers buying these cars; Yellow Cab in Quincy buys almost exclusively retired police cruisers for their fleet (except for the minivans and other specialty vehicles).

True... but not all of them that were purchased today were from the Cab company, in fact most were not.

Westboro State hospital has an auction the begining of Nov. Many of our used up 4X4 go there. Compleat with the paint and bolt on gear still intact.

I don't understand why they sell the retired vehicles with decals or equipment still on them, just doesn't make any sense.

I'm not into the buy an EX cruiser thing.

If I was though, I would have gone with the 2007 Police Charger with 57,000 Miles on it.

I wouldn't buy a cruiser, but I think If it was the right price and not beat to hell I would buy a retired motorcycle.

That place is a bone yard if I ever saw it. If your looking for a short bus or a ford taurus wagon then thats the place to go.

As far as the Quincy auto auction, dont you have to be dealer to get in there? If so, dont all these used joe blow car dealers know that a car that gets 15mpg city and 20 hw is not going to sell with gas going for 3.50 a gallon!

However, we all know the real whackers get there CVPI's off ebay or craigslist.org :shifty:
