CHARLOTTE, N.C. --
Overnight, Channel 9 cameras caught a robbery suspect being loaded into an ambulance with a Taser still attached.
Police said their protocol requires Taser darts that penetrate the skin to only be removed by medical personnel.
Police shocked the suspect at Brookshire Boulevard near Interstate 85 in west Charlotte. That's where a chase ended around 12:30 a.m. Friday.
Investigators said three people robbed a person in west Charlotte around 9 p.m. Thursday. Officers later saw the suspects' car and chased it around the city.
"We believe that a weapon was thrown out of the suspect vehicle around I-485 during the pursuit, so we're also in that area attempting to locate that weapon," said Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Capt. Michelle Hummel.
The robbery victim was not hurt. Police arrested two suspects in the robbery but at last check, the third suspect was still on the loose. A woman was also charged with trying to help the suspects escape.
