    MOORESVILLE, N.C. --

A Mooresville man is charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer after deputies said he set up a makeshift license checkpoint on Midway Lake Road.
Deputies said 20-year-old Kristopher Ricketts stopped drivers in the area on Thursday and asked for their licenses. He told drivers he was a Mooresville police officer, deputies said.

Wow, I guess this is what happens when the economy starts affecting whackers! Mom can't afford to pay him to wash the dishes and mow the lawn anymore, so there goes his dream of outfitting his truck with used 1980s halogen lights from eBay...time to "be all the whacker you can be" with a cheap reflective vest and a cone!

Too bad someone didn't fail to see the vest and teach the kid a lesson about playing in traffic...
