Has anyone ever heard of a now defuct State Agency or title called:
Mass Motor Vehicle Investigator
Dept. of Public Utilities
We found this badge in my uncles box with all is pins badges from departments he worked for and Im assuming he was with this department. Anyone familair with the dept. Thought was interesting to share the badge is shaped similar to State Police Badge.

Might be a RMV thing...they used to have to send an "inspector" to every fatal...separate from the local/state response...but otherwise, never heard of it. Please advise of any history you uncover...just curious...

Dept of Public Utilities now regulates non-police tows, trespasses etc. They're located 100 Cambridge St Boston. Don't know if that's got anything to do with a motor vehicle investigator.
