The troubled woman whose two daughters died in a South Boston arson blaze eight months ago had her throat sliced in a brutal South End attack yesterday, sources and authorities said.
Anna Reisopoulos, 34, is expected to survive after being stabbed in the neck, both hands and behind her right ear yesterday at about 4:30 a.m. on Washington Street near East Canton Street in the South End, according to sources and a police report.
According to a police report, cops arrived to find the victim wounded but able to describe her assailant in detail while en route to Boston Medical Center. She told police she was walking on Washington Street when a man asked her for a cigarette. When she turned around, he attempted to take money from her hand and backpack, "and when she resisted he began stabbing her," the report states.
Around the block on East Lenox Street, an eagle-eyed cop noticed the patchwork on a pedestrian's jacket matched the description given by the victim. According to a police report, the officer asked the suspect to take off his jacket. He did, revealing blood on his collar and wrist. Officers said they located a knife nearby on the street.
Willie A. Jenkins, 41, of Dorchester was held without bail in Boston Municipal Court in connection with the attack pending a clinical evaluation Monday.
Reisopoulos' former lover Nicole Chuminski is charged with murder and arson after allegedly setting the blaze that killed Reisopoulos' two daughters. Acia Johnson, 14, and Sophia Johnson, 2, were found huddled in each other's arms in a closet after the fire ripped through their home April 6.
