    Hopefully she'll be found okay.

It didn't take me long to figure out that staying on-post and getting drunk was a lot cheaper and safer than venturing out into the real world.

The most recent photo of Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux, taken the night of her disappearance. (Fayetteville Police Department)
North Carolina authorities released the last known picture of the missing Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux Thursday and say it was the outfit she wore to the night she went missing.
Bordeaux, a 23-year-old combat medic with the 44th Medical Brigade, disappeared April 14 after leaving the bar in Fayetteville at around 1:20 a.m. Fort Bragg officials reported her missing two days later after she failed to report to duty. Authorities have searched woods and a pond in the area and have not reported any significant leads.
Nicholas Holbert, 25, who has been questioned twice in Bordeaux's disappearance, was taken into police custody for failing to register as a sex offender at his new address in Cumberland County, N.C., according to WRAL-TV.
The station also reported that the owner of the Froggy Bottoms bar -- where Bordeaux was last seen -- was arrested Monday on outstanding warrants unrelated to the soldier's disappearance.
Holbert, who has not been named a person of interest in the case, admitted to driving Bordeaux home the night she was last seen. He has reportedly denied any involvement in the woman's disappearance, telling WTVD-TV that he dropped Bordeaux off at the entrance of her neighborhood at her request.

Volunteers are meeting Saturday to mount a new search for a Fort Bragg soldier missing for two months.
Pfc. Kelli Marie Bordeaux was last seen leaving Froggy Bottoms, a North Carolina bar, in the early morning hours on April 14.
Police believe Bordeaux, 23, left with a registered sex offender, Nicholas Holbert, who had reportedly been living in a lean-to behind the bar, WRAL-TV reports.
Holbert has told police that he dropped her off at the apartment she shared with her husband, who was away visiting family at the time. Holbert claims he had nothing to do with the woman's disappearance and says he is being unfairly targeted because of his criminal past.
He is convicted of indecent liberties with a 5-year-old.
The 25-year-old was arrested following Bordeaux's disappearance for failing to register as a sex offender at his new address.
"One little thing could lead us, if we could just find one little thing," Tim Kassner, a volunteer told WRAL-TV.

"Got home safely" was the last message sent from Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux's cellphone on the night the Fort Bragg soldier disappeared from a North Carolina bar.
More than seven months later, the 23-year-old combat medic is still missing and no suspects have been charged in the case. Bordeaux's family, desperate for answers, is pleading with the public to come forward with any tips in the case.
"I know it's scary to do the right thing, especially if you know a hard truth, but you can't imagine how difficult it is for my family," the woman's older sister, Olivia Cox, said in an interview. "Her birthday is a month away and she's not here. She's not going to be here for Thanksgiving."
Bordeaux, originally from St. Cloud, Fla., was last seen leaving Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville around 1:20 a.m. on April 14, according to law enforcement. The woman's husband, a civilian, was visiting family in Florida at the time, and Bordeaux had spent the night singing karaoke and drinking with friends at the hangout.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — The remains of a Fort Bragg soldier who disappeared more than two years ago may have been found and a suspect has been arrested in her death, police in North Carolina said Wednesday.

Detectives went Wednesday to an area near the Interstate 295 corridor on the northern side of Fayetteville after receiving information, city police spokesman Lt. Todd Joyce said. The search turned up remains believed to be those of Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux.
Authorities said Bordeaux left her apartment on April 13, 2012, and headed to a nearby bar.
The remains will be sent to the chief medical examiner's office to confirm the identity.
Joyce said 27-year-old Nicholas Michael Holbert has been arrested and will be charged with first-degree murder and may face additional charges.
