Job Description
PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY PART MAY RESULT IN YOUR DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE TESTING PROCESS.
1. Qualifications.
All applicants must meet the qualifications as specified in N.J.S.A. 40A: 14-122.
In addition, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
*Applicant must be a resident of the State of New Jersey at the time of appointment.
*Applicant must be at least 21 years of age and no more than 35 years of age at the time of appointment.
*Applicant must have a valid New Jersey driver's license at the time of appointment.
*Applicant must have a minimum of 60 college credits at the time of appointment.
*Applicant must successfully pass a written examination, a physical agility test, a medical examination, a thorough personal background check, a psychological examination, a complete drug and alcohol screening and an oral interview.
2. Instructions.
Applicant must complete the Preliminary Application form, sign the two (2) waivers and have the waivers notarized.
The completed application form and waivers must be returned by March 4, 2005 at 3:00PM. No applications will be accepted after this date.
Applicant must submit a $60.00 application fee with the completed application. Only cash or a money order (made payable to the BOROUGH OF MIDDLESEX) will be accepted. NO PERSONAL CHECKS.
Applicant will be given an Examination Study Guide from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Examination Committee.
The written test will be held on Thursday, March 10th @ 6:00PM, in the Church Hall of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, located on the corner of Harris Ave. and Cedar Ave.
Please park in church parking lot. A uniformed officer will be present to direct you.
Check-in will begin at 5:00PM.
Applicants must present photo identification at check-in. A photo driver's license is preferred.
Applicants shall be seated and ready for instructions by 5:45PM.
NOTICE:
IN ACCORDANCE WITH N.J.S.A. 40A:14-123.1a, THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY MAY CLASSIFY ALL DULY QUALIFIED APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED IN THE FOLLOWING CLASSES:
I. Residents of the municipality.
II. Other residents of the county in which the municipality is situated.
III. Other residents of the State.
IV. All other qualified applicants.
NOTE: The tentative date for the physical agility test is Saturday, April 2, 2005 @ 9:00AM. Please keep this date open.
REMEMBER: The deadline for applications is March 4, 2005 @ 3:00PM.
