Man Escapes On Foot With Cash, Products

MERRIMACK, N.H. -- A gas station clerk held at knifepoint in Merrimack early Saturday morning is safe and the attacker remains at large.

A man rushed into a Mobil convenience store on Daniel Webster Highway, threatened the clerk and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the store.

The female employee walked in to work and prepared to open the store at about 6 a.m. as a man watched from outside, WMUR News 9's Aaron Kellogg reported.
"He was clearly anticipating the door being unlocked, so he was out there waiting," Merrimack police Sgt. Jack Maille said.

The robber walked in and went right for the clerk.

"He put the hands around our employee, put the knife around her throat, then demanded cash," said Scottie Cordeiro, of Bon Bon's Mobil.

The clerk handed over money and the robber eventually let her go. He didn't leave right away as he went for the shelves, took a handful of items and then ran off.

"Do anything you can to find this person because nobody deserves any of this," Cordeiro said.

The man's description is limited: He wore black everything, including black clothes and a black ski mask.

The clerk said she's OK, uninjured but shocked.

"She's shaken up. She went home for the day to get some rest and everything else to clear her mind," Cordeiro said. "Money and all that we can replace. I'm just glad our employee is safe and sound."

The company that owns this store owns four other stores, none of which had been robbed until Saturday.
