Get off my lawn!
Please take a few minutes out of your day and watch this.
I have it. Our chief bought them when all the crap around the country started and gave them out. It took me a bit to get through the first chapter and 1/2 or so, but in all honesty once pas that, I actually found myself relating and didnt put it down. it's a good read and can be made a quick read. Found it to put some areas in perspective. At least it did for me anyway. it allowed me to take a step back and reevaluate myself and my goals. The book was really spot on if you been doing this job for any length of time there are areas where it hits home and you're able to relate. If your new, it's well worth the read to understand what will come and hopefully be a help for the future.
This is why you should NEVER use your real name on social media. Not because you plan on doing something wrong, but because someone with nothing better to do will get offended and make it their mission in life to destroy you. Last fall a friend shared a job post for a local restaurant that was opening on the town page. Because he had a thin blue line flag in his profile the usual loudmouth, insufferable twats jumped on the post bashing the business owners for being bigots who are terrible to work for. Long story short, I got into it with a couple of them and apparently I'm also a racist and white supremacist for pointing out that these people are judgmental assholes with no lives who have nothing better to do than try to ruin a small business over a post by an unaffiliated party based solely on that person's profile pic. What causes cops' stress?
See the thread above this one. No more venting!
