WESTFIELD, Mass. (AP) - The Air National Guard's 104th Fighter Wing is honoring 65 members who've returned from various overseas missions.
The family members of the airmen will also be honored at Saturday's ceremony in Westfield, with children awarded medals to recognize the sacrifice they make when their parent is away. Wing Family Coordinator Sandy Wakefield said their members couldn't do their jobs without the love and support of their families.
The airmen were deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom to countries ranging from Iraq, to Kosovo to Spain,
They were drawn from various units at Barnes Air National Guard base, including the Civil Engineer Squadron and Security Forces Squadron.
