The aunt of a wanted man was arrested Wednesday morning after she tried keep police from arresting her nephew at her house, police said.
Police said they went to a house at 11 Ford St. at about 10:45 a.m. looking for Angelo Ellis, who was wanted on five warrants.
Ellis' aunt, Georgine Saditas, 52, tried to stop the officers from entering the house, police said. Once inside, police said, she again tried to stop them from reaching him and struck two officers. She also blocked the door to the back bedroom, where Ellis was, with her arms, police said.
Saditas was charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, interfering with a police officer and accessory after the fact for harboring a fugitive.
Ellis, 19, had warrants for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny over $250, possession of Class B drugs, theft of a firearm, larceny from a building, conspiracy and larceny. He was also charged with resisting arrest.
Ellis was one of several teenagers charged last summer with taking a shotgun, jewelry, tools and computer equipment during a party in Marshfield.
