A Marshfield man has been arrested for allegedly selling OxyContin painkilling pills.
Appearing in Quincy District Court on Monday, Michael J. Gorman, 47, pleaded innocent to charges of possession of OxyContin with intent to distribute and resisting arrest.
Police said they received a tip that a man named "Mike" would be in the Quincy Avenue area Monday afternoon to sell OxyContin.
The suspect would be driving a gray GMC pickup truck and arriving at a Quincy Avenue business at a specified time, according to the information.
Detectives set up surveillance and spotted the pickup traveling north on Quincy Avenue just before 3 p.m.
A short time later, police stopped the vehicle at Quincy and Glenrose avenues and confronted the driver.
Officers allegedly noticed several OxyContin pills on top of the center console.
Gorman struggled with detectives attempting to arrest him, police said.
After Gorman was handcuffed, police allegedly found more OxyContin pills in one of his pants pockets.
Following his arraignment, Gorman was released on personal recognizance. He is due to return to court for a pretrial conference on Sept. 12.
