NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Federal Marshals captured an infamous mob informant who had been on the run for 23 days after his mistaken release from Brooklyn federal court.

Kenneth "The Rat" Marino, 63, was arrested when he was found hiding in a second floor closet at a Randall Avenue home in the Bronx around 1 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

Marino had allegedly tried to elude authorities by dying his signature white hair black and shaving off the beard he had in his wanted poster.

A paperwork mix-up at the federal court in Brooklyn last month led to the untimely release of Marino who still had a sentence to serve in New Jersey. Marino had been convicted of armed robbery, possession of a weapon and aggravated assault and was supposed to complete his 15-60 year sentence in New Jersey.
